Emblem manufactures high-end, custom upholstered furniture in Chino, California. We specialize in crafting distinctive, durable, and sustainable commercial furniture that stands out in quality and design. We're seeking an experienced  Production Manager to oversee our manufacturing facility in Chino, CA, with a focus on custom upholstery engineering and cross-department coordination.

Responsibilities

• Custom Upholstery Engineering: Provide expert leadership and guidance to the upholstery team to ensure consistent, high-quality output. Solve complex engineering challenges on the fly, ensuring designs are realized efficiently while maintaining Emblem’s high standards.
• Team Leadership: Supervise and lead production team, including upholsterers, cutters, seamstresses, and carpenters, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
• Cross-Department Coordination: Work closely with the wood framing department to ensure frames are engineered for optimal strength and functionality, meeting both design goals and production requirements.
• Production Oversight: Manage daily production operations, working closely with our Director of Operations to ensure timelines, quality standards, and efficiency goals are met.
• Process Improvement: Identify and implement operational improvements to optimize workflow, enhance productivity, and minimize waste.
• Quality Control: Oversee strict quality control measures across all production stages, from frame construction to final upholstery.
• Inventory & Supplies: Monitor raw material inventory levels and coordinate with procurement to prevent shortages or delays.
• Health & Safety: Ensure compliance with safety regulations, promote a culture of workplace safety, and enforce adherence to Cal/OSHA guidelines. Be a key member of our safety team, offering insights and ideas for new safety trainings and protocol.
• Strategic Problem-Solving: Think quickly and strategically to address production challenges and maintain workflow efficiency.

Qualifications

• Extensive Upholstery Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of management experience in high-end, custom upholstered furniture manufacturing, with a deep understanding of upholstery engineering and construction techniques.
• Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and motivate a diverse team in a fast-paced, high-output environment.
• Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of upholstery methods, materials, and engineering, as well as an understanding of wood framing construction and its integration with upholstery.
• Cal/OSHA Compliance: Experience enforcing safety protocols in adherence to Cal/OSHA guidelines.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to think on your feet and make strategic decisions to address production challenges and maintain quality.
• Communication: Must be bilingual in Spanish and English, with excellent communication skills. Comfortable promoting a positive workplace culture based on encouragement, support and training.
• Software Skills: Basic proficiency with production tracking tools or software is a plus.
