A prominent law firm in Los Angeles is seeking an experienced Technology Transactions Partner with a strong book of business in areas such as software, e-commerce, and/or digital media. Candidates with a focus on SaaS (Software as a Service) expertise are highly desirable. This role offers the opportunity to lead and grow a practice in a supportive and resource-rich environment. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage technology-related transactions, including software licensing, SaaS agreements, e-commerce deals, and digital media/content transactions. Provide legal counsel and strategic advice to clients on complex technology and intellectual property matters, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards. Negotiate and draft technology transaction agreements, including service level agreements, data privacy agreements, IP licensing deals, and software development agreements. Represent clients in high-value e-commerce transactions, content licensing, and digital media distribution deals. Develop and maintain long-term client relationships with key players in the technology, media, and e-commerce industries. Collaborate with the firm’s corporate, IP, and regulatory teams to deliver comprehensive legal solutions for technology-related transactions. Engage in business development activities to grow the firm’s technology transactions practice, expanding the client base and enhancing service offerings. Mentor and supervise junior attorneys, supporting their growth in technology and intellectual property law. Stay current with developments in technology law, SaaS agreements, and industry trends to provide clients with up-to-date legal advice and insights. Qualifications and Experience: A minimum of 8 years of legal experience, with a strong focus on technology transactions, software licensing, e-commerce, and/or digital media. Proven track record of managing complex SaaS agreements, technology deals, and digital media transactions. A portable book of business is required, with a focus on serving clients in software, e-commerce, and/or digital content industries. Experience in negotiating high-stakes technology agreements, particularly in SaaS, cloud computing, and digital distribution. Previous leadership or partnership experience within a law firm is highly desirable. Educational Background: Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school. Active member in good standing with the California State Bar. Certifications: Additional certifications in technology law, data privacy, or intellectual property are advantageous but not required. Ongoing Continuing Legal Education (CLE) focused on technology, software, and digital media transactions is preferred. Skills and Abilities: Expertise in drafting, negotiating, and reviewing technology and intellectual property agreements. Strong client management and relationship-building skills, with the ability to offer strategic legal advice tailored to the needs of technology-focused businesses. Advanced knowledge of SaaS agreements, cloud computing contracts, e-commerce law, and digital media transactions. Proven leadership abilities, with a track record of mentoring junior attorneys and leading successful legal teams. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex legal and technical concepts clearly to clients and stakeholders. Entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on business development and expanding the firm’s technology transactions practice.
