Position Title: Scaffold Auditing Manager
Department: Asset Management
Reports To: VP-Scaffolding & Shoring Asset Manager
Location: Can be based in our Deer Park (preferable), Atlanta, Baton Rouge, or Chicago offices
Travel Requirements: Frequent travel up to 50% of the time, including access to industrial facilities.
Position Overview: The Scaffold Auditing Manager will oversee all aspects of the scaffold and shoring inventory audit function, ensuring accuracy in inventory counts and compliance with established inventory management processes. This role will involve both data and physical audits of scaffolding materials, requiring hands-on involvement in industrial environments. The position plays a critical role in safeguarding the integrity of inventory records and improving inventory management practices.
The ideal candidate will be highly detail-oriented, possess excellent analytical and organizational skills, and have the ability to communicate findings effectively to multiple stakeholders. This position will involve substantial travel and on-site work, especially during semi-annual physical auditing periods.
Key Responsibilities: - Physical Auditing of Scaffolding Inventory:
- Plan, manage, and execute on-site physical inventory audits including manpower planning of Asset Management and Business Unit Personnel.
- Perform detailed counts of scaffolding materials at various industrial sites and laydown yards.
- Reconcile physical counts with system records to identify and address discrepancies.
- Process and Data Audits:
- Full ownership of the scaffold and shoring audit process, to include continuous improvement, sub-process development, and training of the team.
- Audit inventory management processes and associated paperwork throughout the year.
- Evaluate compliance with company policies, including shipping, receiving, and reporting protocols.
- Identify patterns in discrepancies and provide recommendations for process improvements.
- Leverage machine learning to identify trends across both problem and best sites for research and duplication or elimination.
- Reporting and Communication:
- Prepare and deliver detailed audit reports, highlighting findings, trends, and actionable recommendations.
- Collaborate with site managers, yard personnel, and business units to address audit findings.
- Provide regular updates to leadership on inventory accuracy metrics and audit progress.
- Consult Business Unit Leaders on best practices and/or areas for improvement.
- Training and Support:
- Assist in developing and implementing training programs to improve inventory management practices.
- Act as a subject matter expert for best practices in inventory auditing and management.
- Travel and Industrial Facility Access:
- Travel to various industrial facilities and job sites, including high-security and safety-critical environments.
- Adhere to all site-specific safety protocols and access requirements.
Qualifications: Education and Experience: - Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in inventory management, auditing, or related roles, preferably in industrial or construction environments.
- Experience with scaffolding equipment or similar asset-heavy industries is highly desirable.
Skills and Competencies: - Strong analytical and organizational skills with a high attention to detail.
- Proficiency in inventory management systems and auditing tools.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for reporting and collaboration.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of safety standards for industrial and construction sites.
Physical Requirements: - Ability to lift and move scaffolding components as part of physical audits.
- Willingness to work in outdoor and industrial environments.
Travel: - Up to 50% travel, with flexibility during peak auditing periods.
Key Metrics for Success: - Accuracy rate of audited inventory compared to system records.
- Timely and actionable audit reports with clear recommendations.
- Improvements in inventory management processes resulting from audit findings.
- Positive feedback from site and yard teams regarding audit collaboration.
