Job Description

Prevents fraud and financial losses, investigates cases and recovers funds for the Credit Union. Conducts audits and trains the awareness of security policies and procedures.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

Ability to complete all Loss Prevention Specialist I and II tasks.

Ability to analyze and identify fraud trends and patterns early, make recommendations for the best course of actions.

Handles unusual situations by assessing the needs, using critical thinking, escalating inquiries with vendors, and proposing solutions to management with minimal assistance.

Assist customers with claims of fraud/ forgery by preparing prior documentation for law enforcement and bonding company. Sign warrants and represents MAX in both a professional and confident manner.

Performs the completion and accuracy of charge-offs, fraud reports, and other departmental reports by designated deadline.

Maintains thorough knowledge of MAX CU fraud prevention related, fraud and disputes products and processes.

Reviews and processes of all card disputes to determine final credit based on credit union policy and regulations. Ensures all disputes are processed timely and accurately.

Frequently review fraud and VISA rules and alerts ensuring the best solutions are in place.

Completes all training as required within MAX and provided by vendors.

Assists members and employees via email and phone with all inquiries concerning account information, fraud inquiries, and disputes.

Upholds core values and builds team member and customer relationships while maintaining a member first mindset.

Support and contribute to the achievements of corporate goals.

Performs all other duties as assigned.
