A law firm in Redwood City, CA, seeks an experienced and motivated Criminal Defense Attorney to join its dynamic team. While remote work is flexible, candidates must be local to the Bay Area, specifically the San Jose area, to attend required court appearances. Duties: Provide clients with legal counsel regarding their rights and case details, drafting necessary legal documents. Represent clients at pretrial hearings, advising them on strategy after each session. Handle court appearances, trials, and motions, including interviewing witnesses and conducting legal research. Assess the potential outcomes of cases, leveraging knowledge of legal precedents to provide strategic insights. Manage a caseload efficiently, ensuring timely and thorough case preparation. Offer legal analysis to help clients understand the potential benefits of pursuing their cases. Gather and analyze evidence to support client arguments or challenge prosecution claims. Prepare clients for depositions, working with expert witnesses and witnesses to build a robust case strategy. Requirements: Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in Criminal Defense. Proven ability to manage complex criminal cases at federal, state, and local levels. Strong collaborative mindset with a focus on teamwork and mutual success. Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred but not mandatory. Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and build rapport with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders. Education: Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school. Admission to the state bar in California. Certifications: Current licensure to practice law in California. Skills: Strong analytical and research skills. Ability to thrive in high-pressure, fast-paced environments. Exceptional written and oral communication skills. High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. Comfortable handling legal documentation and case management software.
